Our Story

Hammersmith Surveyors: Property Experts with Local Roots

Hammersmith Surveyors was founded on a simple belief: that every property buyer and seller deserves honest, expert advice from a surveyor who actually knows their local market.

We've watched the Hammersmith property market shift and evolve over many years — from the Victorian terraces of Brook Green to the purpose-built blocks overlooking the Thames. That local knowledge, combined with our professional surveying expertise, means we spot things that generalist surveyors sometimes miss.

Every member of our team is fully qualified and accredited under RICS, CIOB and/or RPSA. We don't use sub-contractors or call centres. When you instruct us, you'll deal with one of our own surveyors from start to finish.

We've carried out hundreds of surveys across West London, from simple homebuyer reports on modern flats to complex Level 3 surveys on Grade II listed Edwardian townhouses. Absolutely. We have no referral agreements, no commissions, and no financial links with any estate agents, mortgage lenders, or developers. Our independence is one of our most important qualities — it means you can trust that our advice is entirely in your interest.

Do you only cover Hammersmith and Fulham?

How do I know which type of survey I need?

The right survey depends on the property's age, condition, and type. Generally, a Level 2 Homebuyer Report suits modern or standard properties in reasonable condition. A Level 3 Building Survey is recommended for older, larger, or unusual properties — including most Victorian and Edwardian homes in Hammersmith. What happens if you find something serious?

We'll contact you directly — either by phone or video call — to walk through the issue before you even receive the report. We explain what the defect is, how serious it is, what it's likely to cost, and what your options are. We never leave clients to work through difficult findings alone. Where needed, we can recommend specialist contractors or engineers for further investigation.

Can I be present during the survey?

We prefer to carry out the inspection independently, as it allows us to focus fully on the property without distraction. However, we're happy for you to meet us at the end of the inspection for a brief verbal overview — just let us know in advance. Your full report will be with you within 48 hours and we'll always follow up with a personal call.
